Ten days is enough for the classic triangle if you take the high-speed train rather than squeezing in extra cities. Spend four days in Beijing, three in Xi’an for the Terracotta Army and the city wall, and three in Shanghai to slow down before flying home. Book high-speed rail tickets as early as you can.
